Volunteer

Volunteer Need Highlight

We have filled the role for the Director of Operations. Thank you to everyone who was interested in this position.

We are currently looking for Opening Shift Supervisors to oversee the drop-in center one night per week as well as manage the volunteers who serve there. Please email [email protected] with your resume and interest. Preferred candidates will have the following:

  • Experience working with a population who has experienced trauma
  • Experience working at a drop-in center or similar shelter-like setting
  • Proven reliability as a volunteer (references will be required)

Hours are flexible but please only inquire if you can volunteer at least 8PM to 12AM on a consistent evening per week. All drop-in center volunteers must submit to a criminal background check.

Opt-in to Receive E-mails Regarding Emergency Survivor Needs

Even if you don’t have time to volunteer on a regular or periodic basis, you can still opt-in to get e-mails from Traffick Free (this is separate from our newsletter!) regarding survivor needs. Previous requests have included diapers, housing, food, clothing, furniture, medical services, transportation fees and more. Opt-in here.

Regular Volunteer Needs at Traffick Free

We’re looking for dedicated and experienced volunteers to help in the following areas:

  • Fundraising
  • Graphic design
  • Event planning
  • Strategic partnerships

If you are interested in any of the opportunities listed above, or have ideas of your own, please start the process by completing the online form here.

Internship Opportunities

We LOVE interns! If you are interested in an internship at Traffick Free, please complete the online form and indicate on the form that you are specifically looking for an internship, the name of the school, as well as the term (e.g. Summer 2017).

Please note that only second-year MSW interns will be sought to volunteer at the drop-in center. However, if not chosen to work at the drop-in center, your experience will include networking with other local NGOs and law enforcement as well as research. Please also note that although you can expect to be working face-to-face with the Internship Program Manager at least once per week, much of your time will be working independently and remotely on projects you will be assigned. We encourage you to review the position description prior to applying: Intern, General.

We can only accept a maximum of two (2) interns per Fall and Spring term (any concentration) and just one (1) MSW intern for the Summer so we recommend you apply a full term prior to when you are looking for an internship (i.e. for a Summer internship, apply during the previous Winter term).
