A crisis is defined individually, by the person experiencing it. If their presenting situation exceeds their resources and/or their ability to cope, they are in crisis. The primary goal of crisis intervention is to address the immediate crisis, with follow-up in place to support individuals in their return to a state of homeostasis.
Our crisis intervention services include timely onsite response to a safe space (police departments, hospitals or shelters), safety assessments, support and counseling during the crisis, addressing the immediate crisis, development of a stabilization plan and access to follow-up services.
